Los Balcones is a thriving residential urbanisation and community situated just 3 km south of the huge town of Torrevieja on the Southern Costa Blanca (on the Orihuela Costa) right next to the large Torrevieja salt water lake.
There are plenty of activities, attractions, shopping, trips and excursions you can do when you stay in Los Balcones. Nearby attractions include many popular golf courses and sandy beaches 3 km away.
Los Balcones has its own facilities within a five minute walk at the Filton shopping centre with amenities such as shops, banks, supermarkets (Carrefour), opticians etc.
Zenia Boulevard, the largest shopping centre in Europe which opened on 25 September 2012, is a short drive away. Zenia Boulevard has a traditional Mediterranean design, featuring more than 600 trees and 55 different plant species in the various gardens and open spaces which give colour to the shopping centre. Its layout is designed to reflect a typical Spanish village, with various "town squares" such as Plaza London Square or Plaza Mayor linked by "streets" lined with shops of every description. In the summer it gets very busy with lots to do for the children.
The centre accommodates popular national, international and local brands such as the hypermarket Alcampo, Leroy Merlin, Tenpin bowling, Primark, Inditex with Zara and their other trademarks H&M, C&A, Deichmann, Guess, Geox, Swarovski, Punto Roma, Muerde la Pasta, Kiko, Druni and Marvimundo. There is a Casino there and childrens play areas.
The Habeneras shopping complex in Torrevieja includes household names such as H&M, C&A and Zara.
Nearby Torrevieja has a marina, market and pedestrianised sea front area (promenade) very popular with Spanish families for their traditional evening stroll. There are lots of restaurants, tapas bars and shops. It is very Spanish, there are no package tours here. You can get to Torrevieja from Los Balcones urbanisation (urbanization) by the local bus service or local taxi service.
Punta Prima is 5 minutes drive away (approximately twenty minutes walk) and is the nearest stretch of beach with an area full of bars and restaurants of different types and nationalities, as well as supermarkets such as Aldi, Mas y Mas, Champion and further south to Playa Flamernca there is the Flamenca Beach Commercial Centre with more bars and restaurants, Lidl and Supercor supermarkets and a go-kart track.
Nearby Villamartin is a five minute drive worth noting because of the large Villamartin plaza. This is a square with a black and white chessboard pattern surrounded by shops, bars, cafes, banks and restaurants. In the heat of summer the atmosphere is buzzing with life and noise
This is a beautiful self contained apartment built in the under build of the main house. It will sleep 4/5. Air con/heating is available.There is free Wi Fi and the lounge has English TV. There is a small patio at the front of the property. It has its own entrance and parking space down the main drive. The owners live above and always on hand if you need them
